G R A D U A T I O N june eighth

Graduation is Friday. This Friday, June 8th. It starts at 6:00 pm Central Europe Time.

We just learned they will be broadcasting the ceremony online allowing deployed parents, family and friends around the world to watch graduation.

It will be streaming live.

The Web site is:

You can pull it up now- they have a quick promo video playing to see if it's working on your computer. Then, you're ready for graduation day!

For graduation, they're holding it at a big soccer field here in Kaiserslautern. There are around 250 graduates, so it's going to be a long, long ceremony. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and it won't be too hot or pouring rain.

I'm going to be the optimist and plan on clear skies and a slight breeze!

We got tickets this week along with guidelines they expect and required each graduate to sign. I was amazed at their dress code. It's good, I was just surprised they are so strict.

In the directives it states, "You have a right to the diploma you have earned, you do not have a right to participate in the ceremony." They're not joking around here.

A little example of the dress rules...
*no flip flops- even if they're dressy {I would have hated this one...}
*for guys- no jeans {understood}, no khakis
* shirts must be fully buttoned and have a collar
* no athletic socks {this is good}
* all males will wear a properly tied tie in a color that will not clash with the gown

Each student wrote 40 words that will be read as they walk across the stage.
I will have my Kleenex packed.
I can't believe this day is already almost here.
