A Simple Impression

Check out the new plaques and lettering I've posted at my site asimpleimpression.blogspot.com. I've also started an online shop at a site specifically for handmade items, and have posted items there as well... asimpleimpression.etsy.com. Thanks for looking!

Kansas blows...

Literally! Moving here in July was great. I was so excited for the heat and LOVED every minute of it! We noticed immediately that there's always a cool breeze, so it didn't ever feel that HOT! It's great! We were loving it and heard from several Kansans... "Oh, yes... there's rarely a day that it's not breezy." Well, it's a crazy cold wind in the winter as we've discovered! Today, we came home to find our trampoline blown into the neighbor's yard. Guess we shouldn't have left our safety net on... wonder how many neighbors were watching (laughing) at us since we're still new to this Kansas thing!

Spiderman...Peter Parker...Our Crazy Coleman

I was reading my friend Traci's blog (great writing, by the way!!) about favorite clothes. I had to laugh because in our house right now, it's Spiderman! Coleman loves him and IS him (Petey... you know, for Peter Parker) every day! It's a bummer for him when we have to leave the house and he has to actually get dressed. With only 3 Peter Parker boxers and jammies... they're run through the wash just about every day. Even when we don't think he has them on, he surprises us and flashes his boxers to us! What a crack up! He gets in the stance and lucky for us, he webs everything bad that comes into our house! We're so safe!

Brrr…

Last night, after dinner we decided to scoop out some frozen yoghurt! Schwann's… our new favorite! The little guys were happy with their dessert until Caden started crying. Why is it that every little one has to learn the hard way about brain freezes? They hurt. He cried. Of course, we all laughed even though we were trying to be sympathetic. All he could do was hold his head. After the pain eased, he went back to his bowl with smaller bites… making sure he told his daddy they were "little bites." Poor baby!

please, foul!

Justin's working on all parts of his game... but, has been challenged to work on his fouling! Yes... the kid needs to be just a little bit more aggressive! We can't figure out why he has such a hard time getting in the middle of things. Could be the other sweaty bodies (he's a very clean kid)... he's thinking too hard to make sure he's in the right spot at the right time... he's afraid to foul? We can't figure it out. He's taken on a challenge from Aunt Starr to foul- good fouls, not just a slap on the arm. He actually was called for 2 fouls last night. One was while setting a screen, no where near the ball, so we're not sure that counts. Oh well, it's a start.

Five Fabulous Years

We've been married five years today and still

feel like newlyweds! Guess that's how it's

supposed to feel when you're married to the

right person!! We took the time to go out for

an anniversary dinner while Mac and Starr

were still here to keep the boys. (thanks guys!)

When Coleman saw that I was dressed to go

out, I told him dad and I were going on a

date. "To Hawaii?" he asked. Guess we need

to get out a little more since we did Hawaii

January?

Yesterday was another pinch-me day! I can't believe it's January and the temperature hit 70 degrees! Today it's still in the 60's!
I love it! Coleman & Justin were out in shorts- playing in the mud!
It was a mess, but they were happy!
Kansas definitely gets cold, but I can handle a day or two, especially when there are January days like this! Don't think I will ever be able to go back to LONG AK winters!
