M U N I C H christmas market

Insbrook was so much fun, as  an entire group- we planned a day outing to Munich for he opening day of their Christmas market. It did not disappoint.

We got a really great price on a family train pass- so we took the 1 ½ hour train trip from Garmisch straight into downtown Munich.

As we came out from the underground station, we were in the center of the market- it was spectacular.

To me, it was magical. Jim says not quite magical, but pretty cool. Look at these buildings! They are breathtaking- absolutely beautiful!

Munich is old and beautiful and HUGE. The Christmas market was huge with so many booths, food and more fun memories.

The beginnings of the market go back to the 14th century. Again, the buildings, statues, cobblestone streets and shops are all simply charming.

We definitely haven't spent enough time in Munich yet- we'll be going back!

There were more than enough people at this one- we definitely took turns holding on to the little guys so we didn't lose anyone.

While it's overwhelming traveling on the Metro system {at least for me} in Paris- Germany has a different feeling.

Not once on any train here have I felt fear or nervous at all. Coleman's already taken three field trips this year. For him, it's nothing to jump on the train.

It's still fast pace riding the trains, but a few steps down from Paris on the intense factor. Germany feels very safe to me- even in the big city.

A part of the afternoon downtown, a few of the big kids decided to go ice skating. It was a pretty cool outdoor rink right in the heart of the city center. Ty didn't skate this time- Justin did. They had a blast. Look at these cute kids!

Our little Caden's hooked on Brats und Brotchen. The nutella crepes {handmade in front of you} are delicious as well- definitely new favorites.  Can't wait for our next Christmas market... I'm thinking Strassbourg, France. Maybe, next weekend.
