back in S C H O O L
The long "fall" break for the boys has officially come to an end! Coleman started yesterday and Justin/Ty started their first day of school this morning. Coleman had a great day- came out the door smiling. There are 18 in his first grade class, and his teacher was very warm and inviting for his first day. Monday, as I was in the office registering him they said there were 11 new kids on Monday alone- that's just for the elementary school- grades K-2. Also, there are over 900 kids in his school... yes... that's right... 900 kids in K-2. I heard them say there were 50 buses, but didn't believe it until we picked up Coleman and saw them all lined up. Don't know why this was so crazy to me, but they all look like Tour busses... no yellow school busses over here! We move in to our house in our village on Friday so all three boys will ride the bus to and from school starting Monday. Coleman has his first field trip next week. Meeting at the train station, and taking the train to a German play, "The Snow Queen." We've heard from several over here that they frequently take field trips with so much history around- we're thinking he has some cool opportunities ahead!
Justin & Ty just met with their counselors yesterday. I went with Ty and Jim went with Justin. Due to Justin's typical quiet (shy) nature, his counselor is a little conserned about him. After three times of letting Justin know if there was any kind of emergency or things were too difficult to come to his office... Jim spoke up to let him know that he's just a bit quiet until you get to know him. Yep, from the outside I'm sure he looks like a depressed, high-risk kid... We told him to try to smile a little today, at least every once in a while. Both boys should be getting in to the same classes they were enrolled in when we moved. Lots of class options here and lots of AP classes for the for next year. The high school has over 1000 kids, and has two floors. Each of them is assigned a student-to-student helper today to help them get around. A little overwelming, we know... hopefully, it goes well.
... SO much fun squishing all 6 of us + Lady in a car when we go somewhere together! Boys get along great being so close...

You really know how to bring back the memories! If you have questions about the "culture" or things in general, e-mail me. I'll try to help. Loving the blogs
!! Oh, don't use your BBQ grill more than once a month either. We used our gas grill and got scolded by a neighbor regularly. Others made friends with us and joined in. :)
I can't wait to hear how the big boys day went! And still waiting on your cool "laundry" post!
